I know this topic has been asked countless times. But I never paid attention until now that I have the problem. I have been having really bad gas mileage and would like to know what the procedure would be to remedy this problem. I have an 85' vanagon with a 2.1 case, the top half is from the 1.9 wbx. The van has 190,000 miles and the engine about 60,000. Just changed the plugs to platinums and replaced the fuel filter. I have a feeling that the O2 sensor is bad cause it smells rich on idle but it has been this way for a few years with no problems. I was wondering if anyone had a method to begin checking and what to check. Thanks for reading and to anyone who can give me any suggestions. Aloha, Ed |
