Matthew - I have four of Bruneel's house brand 195R14 LT mud and snow tires for the winter. They aren't bad, and can hold 50 or 55 psi, so they are stiff enough for the Vanagon. One problem that I have noticed is that they are not as good in slippery conditions as I would like. Mud and Snow tires don't all have a tread compound that is designed for ice. When I replace these, I'm going to look into the Hakkapelita (sp?) light truck tire, which is apparently the greatest thing going on icy roads. Some people have mentioned that Les Schwab can get them, so you might give them a call. By the way, what's wrong with the roads? Most of them are graveled now, and some are even paved! - Mike Finkbiner '87 Westy Moscow, Idaho >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> From: Matthew Pollard <poll7356@UIDAHO.EDU> Subject: aggressive tires needed whip me for starting the tire thread again... Ok, i need some non-highway-tread tires. Some with a more aggressive tread. Some people would refer to these as winter tires, but i'm calling them Idaho tires. Have you seen how they maintain the roads around here? Geeze. thanks Matthew
