Last four digets of my VIN are 0958, IE #95 in the eight month. Manufacturers date 8/82 but its titled as an 83, purchased in Fort Worth Texas 6/4/83 for $16661.00 I'd be interested in finding out more about this specific year model. My Westy is very unusal. Take a look http://blackhead.netfirms.com/ I have been advised that all AirCooled 83 Westfalia and Vanagons are 1982 since they only produced them from September thru December 1982 and that was the last production on Air Cooled vans. But my door plack says 8/82 and others have told me that the only 83 Air Cooled were units stuck at the port of entry when New Years rolled around and they became 83 instead of 82 models.

Thanks Stan Wilder
