Odometer sometimes can be repaired.  Fault often a nylon gear which is
force fit on a metal shaft.
If the gear is not broken, just slipping, you can sometimes roughen up
the shaft and then slip the gear back
into place.  Some have purchased new gears ... should be in the archives
....
