Harald,

Body: * off-white (Alpinweiss) with blue, wavy striping line (Atlantic, geddit?) * Carat body kit (black mouldings) * blue tinted glass in driver's cab * plastic double windows (for insulation) aft of B-posts * insulating foam in body cavities * heated power mirrors * no power windows or locking (probably a good thing)

Interior: * Eberspächer DA-6 diesel heater with timer (3 programmed start times) and thermostatic control * dual batteries and 220V->12V battery charger * all the usual full Westy stuff * lit vanity mirror * tachometer and digital clock * captain's chairs with armrests

Technical * 70 hp 1.6 TD with aftermarket cat * 5-sp manual

This was the upmarket version of the VW California as sold in Germany since '88. It was about 8000 DM more expensive than the base model (that's probably why so little were sold), adding the body kit, heater, dual batteries, and insulation. I'm sorry; I don't have any pictures online...

Regards, Robin Oomkes 90 Vanagon Westfalia
