Be careful, I've seen some really questionable "grill kits" out there. Mine come with the correct inner lights, genuine VW/Germany, which account for a good part of the price as there is no equivalent aftermarket alternative. Most of the kits I've seen come with either no inner lights, or some cheesy generic "off-road" lights that can be made to work but are neither intended for street use nor as good as the real thing. Also, the grill emblem is different on the S.A. grill kit, and difficult to find separately; it's included with my kit.

I sell two versions of the kit. One, the 1495A, sells for $289.95 with listmember discount, and includes the grill, emblem, and inside driving lights. This is pretty much all you need if you are putting the kit on a pre-86 Vanagon. You can splice off of the existing headlight wiring to wire the inner lights. As other alternatives, you can add a simple relay to trigger the inner lights, using the power to the outer lights as the trigger, and run the inner lights right to 12 volts. Or you can add a fog light switch kit, ZVW 123 251, which is a genuine part, looks like your other switches, and mounts into the blank spot on your dash console; with it you will have separate control of the inner lights and a power indicator as well.

The other, 1495, sells for $332.50 with listmember discount, and is intended for '86-up conversions. This adds a pair of aftermarket round H4 outer headlights, since if your existing grill uses the square lights you will not already have them. It also includes the wiring harness plug for those headlights, since the one for your square lights is different. You will still need to get a pair of outer headlight buckets (or fabricate a mount). These are the stock buckets used on '68-85 busses and Vanagons are generally are easily found for very little cost in junkyards, given the wide range of years that use them.
