I almost hate to do it, but I have to agree with Terry on this. I went through almost the same deal. After adjusting the TPS several times I finally figured out that it wouldn't hold the adjustment and I replaced it. Roland just flat scoots off the line now (hey, speed is relative).

If you replace the TPS get the plastic cam that goes on the throttle shaft as well. Both Bus Depot and Vanagain have them. They tend to wear down and are pretty cheap. I noticed on mine that the TPS tends to function more consistently when it is set to the wider end of the recommended range (.004").

While you're poking around the engine make sure that the intake boot is tight on both ends and check the vacuum hoses, breather hose, etc., for cracks or looseness.

Where would I come up with this revolation?

Mine did the exact same thing for months----replaced every switch, sensor, AFM, filter, plug, wire, and other electrical sundries, and last but not the least, I got to the TPS, and this was the little bugger causing the hesitation.

I tossed the old---bought new, adjusted it--- and guess what------eureka!!!!

The van moved when I hit the throttle.

Try adjusting the TPS first, then replace it if things don't change---the contacts may be shot.
