Subject: Fuel Tank Leak Advice Needed
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all. When I bought my bus, I knew that there was a fuel leak - I posted to the list, and you guys told me pretty much what it was and not to worry about it. Well, it turns out the list was right - I finally decided to see if I could find the culprit today, and I did.

I have a 1984 WBX, and the leak is where the driver's side expansion tank lines connect to the fuel tank. The Y-shaped plastic piece is broken - the arm of the Y that goes to the expansion tank hose is broken off. I can see it with the right combination of mirrors and lights. I believe that is the only part I will need from what I can see.

Does anyone have advice for what part numbers I need and how much I'm going to have to do to fix this? It looks like I'll need to drop the tank, unless somehow I can maneuver my fingers down in there. Not going to be pretty, but at least I have a visual on the problem. Thanks in advance.

Chris
