You have two switch's on your van.

One is for idle speed, one is for full thottle speed.

You must set them up correctly, or they will be non functous mentus.

What will a shop charge? Some shops charge whatever traffic will bear.

Some are more resonable than others.

I would think it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours, but again, how familiar are they with the Vanagon set-up? How often have they performed this operation? How gualified is the wrench?

I say, what the hell---if you want to to get done, pay the piper, and get it over with.

Or there is another option---do it yourself, and save the labor.

It isn't that difficult, as long as you have some sort of a manual to give you some guidance, and specs.

What can you do wrong? You could very well set them up with the wrong clearances, you could round off the nut's at the throttle body, you coud do all kinds of things wrong---just think positive and do it. :>)
