I haven't seen anyone else mention this. The clutch release lever has 2 fingers that like to wear unevenly. When this happens, the throwout bearing puts uneven pressure on the clutch spring. Over the long term, it causes damage to the clutch and the motor mounts from the obvious shudder. The bearing surface of the release lever fingers is induction hardened at the factory. When it is worn down, it's time for replacement.
