The '85 layout is different (see Bentley), there is an early and late layout. I have the late, as I also have the single throttle switch set up. I may have the advance/retard ports confused. If the fuel pressure regulator is teed into the retard side, everything makes sense. The rotor moves CW, so if the front (towards dist. cap) pulls, it would retard the timing. The back port (towards the manifold) must be the advance side, because the vacuum source at the throttle body would be the one that senses engine load/throttle plate angle.

Jay, I just looked at my 84 and the advance, the side away from the distributor goes to a fitting on the front side of the throttle body with a t going over to the right front somewhere. The retard, closest to the distributor, goes to a fitting on the rear of the throttle body just below the idle screw. The fuel pressure regulator has a hose going down to the large box where the intake pipes go into almost directly below the regulator. Sounds like your hoses are in the wrong places and that's why things arn't working correctly. If you need a picture I can send one this evening. Let me know. Joe. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jay L Snyder" <Jay.L.Snyder@USA.DUPONT.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2001 11:40 AM Subject: Digijet Distributor Questions
