Subject: Advice please! Electrical problems.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello Listees: I'm having multiple problems with my '89 Westy. I just got it back from the paint shop, where I had removed the tail and front turn signal lamps. Now, I'm having these two problems:

1. My right turn signal lights work, but flash very quickly. Both bulbs flash. I have swapped the bulbs with those on the left side (which function normally), as well as swapping in two known good flashers (#21). I have cleaned all of the terminals and bulb sockets and checked the conductance from before the terminal to the bulb socket on front and rear connectors. Is there is too much resistance somewhere in the circuit, and where are the best places to look?

2. My left side running lights are shorted, and fuse #7 blows instantly. I had just removed and replaced the instrument cluster before this happened (but didn't disconnect the light switch), but don't know whether that or connecting the lenses back is the cause. I am not sure how to proceed with this problem. Do I pull the wire(s) from behind fuse #7, and look for the short that way, or could it be a bad headlight switch?

Any help is appreciated, as I would like to take a trip this weekend.

Cary
