In the midst of doing it. in my spare time(what is that again? I'm a mechanic.).

I'm converting a 1986 Vanagon Gl to a 1985 Golf 1.8 GX engine using parts from a 1982 Vanagon Diesel.

price to date. $600 for the vanagon, intake and exhaust manifolds from a 1982 Quantom 4cyl, and the 1985 1.8 engine with wiring harness and computer. $300 tow for "free" 1982 Diesel vanagon. plus assorted parts(clutch, timming belt, etc) the parts are all wholesale, so I don't have the heart to tell you the price differance. So, up to date I have over $1,000 in the project to date. oh' by the way both Vanagons threw rods through their cases.

Shaggy
