Bob, Aren't you supposed to set it to 10-12 degrees BTDC? I haven't set mine but I will be doing so tonight. If your engine is of the same or similar batch as mine it probably came with NGK plugs and those 'silicon' wires. I don't like either of those so I would be swapping that stuff to genuine Bosch if the ignition continues to give you trouble. (That's what I'm going to do if I don't like the feel of things once I have the basic params setup on the engine.) Good luck and keep in touch on it - I'll let you know how mine works out tonight.
