With an 86 GL, automatic, 225/70R14 tires, 4,200 rpm, and an indicated 70MPH, the New Mexico State Police Officer insisted I was going 85. He gave me a warnig because at a dead stop, with the engine off, the speedometer was still on 59.

With the tires that I have the chart says that I need a 764 instead of an 805. I don't have a clue, nor have I cared in the past, about tires vs gear ratios etc. With 205/70R14 tires I was never stopped.

Mike Faust is sending me a new speedometer. I'll test the NMSP radar again in the near future and let you know.

Randy
