I've been driving an 83 Air Cooled for seven years and I've owner several 81/82 and I've never had any problem with stopping it. If you've got enough vacuum for the booster and the system is in good shape just spend your money elsewhere. I admit I've never come down any long descending mountain roads and that might be the test for *are real BAD* critique.
