Hey,

Perhaps some of you remember my horror story this last winter when I went outside at two in the morning to warm my van up at a buddy's house before I headed home. I came back inside for 15 minutes than said good bye, ran out the door and turned to look at the van in the lot only to see a BLANK SPACE! I took off running toward the blank space and got around the side of the house only to look down the driveway (hill) and across the street, over the curb only to see my Vanagon mating with the house across the street. Well, I finally got a picture of the house that I can show you. The beams you see laying on the ground where actually in the center holding the roof up.

The van survived beautifully, with only 2 dimples (fixed) in the upper hood and my license plate fell off which was sitting under the window. Nothing happened to the fiberglass bumper. Lights were on in the house. No came out but a dog was barking like crazy.

The drive way is so steep and angled going over the sidewalk then dropping again and then up to street level and so on that I believe it went into gear somewhere along the line. There is no way it be going that fast down such a bumpy incline and make it that far.

No more winter driving for me... http://www.roesner.net/vw/porch.jpg
