This can be caused by old/bad gasoline. Incorrect ignition or cam timing or incorrect mixture.

HELLO . I AM FROM GREECE AND I WANT TO ASK YOU FOR A PROBLEM I HAVE WITH A VANAGON SYNCRO ENGINE SWAP. I HAVE INSTALL A VW GOLF III 2.0L (2E) ENGINE IN MY VANAGON WITH ALL MOUNTING STUFF FROM THE DIESEL ENGINE AND EVERYTHING IS PERFECT EXEPT THE EXSAUST SYSTEM. I HAVE INSTALL THE EXSAUST OF AUDI WITH THE TWO (2) WITH THE PIPE OF DIESEL AND THE MUFLER OF THE CATALYTIC VANAGON BUT THE EXSAUST WHEN I RUN OVER THE 4.000 RPM IS STARTING TO BE BURN AND BECAME RED FROM OVERHEATING.PLEASE INFORM WHAT TO DO TO STOP THE OVERHEATING. THANK FOR YOUR ANSWER.
