if you can plan on not driving it while you're doing the work (recommended), just disconnect the negative lead from the battery and you'll solve the electrical issues. make sure you (a) know or (b) mark the electrical connections you'll have to disconnect to get the thing out. follow bentley's instructions on the order of removal. you might find the drainpipe from the sink to the floor connector is impossible to get off; the hose has a soft inside and the connector on the floor is barbed. i cut mine off and got some dishwasher hose of the same length to replace it. works fine.
