There may be gear ratio differences between the AC and water boxer, but my re geared 90 GL tranny has a 4.57 r/p and .77 4th and I'm running a true 70 mph at 3400 rpm(stock is about 4000rpm)

Unless Stan has made major tire or tranny changes or his tach is way off, somethin's fishy here. Maybe from all that welding!
