I performed tonight with the River City Jazz Orchestra at BB's Barbeque here in KC. During the break, I went out to the parking lot to see if the fellow was there who drives the neat synchro vanagon Westy Weekender. To my surprise, there was a cherry late 80s full Westy sitting in the lot with Washington plates. I grabbed my camera to take some photos, thinking someone from the list was there, when a couple came out of the restaurant and walked over to the camper. Met Burt and his lovely wife from near Seattle and had a nice chat. They were stopping in KC on their way to Indiana to visit family. I told him about the list, and he said he'd be sure to check it out when he got home. Meanwhile, he showed me this real neat cupholder that fits into the Westy ashtray. Said he ran across a guy with a stack of them who was selling them for $3 a piece. He went to vanagon.com and told someone about them, and the fellow bought them all! Cornered the market, he did! Now, I'm wondering, who was that, are there any left, and what is he asking for them? Dave in KC 85 Westy http://members.fortunecity.com/davebaker1
