I think the problem with Bryan's 1.9NA hammering is due to incorrect timing or/and a injector problem. This is a "birthing" problem IMO and is normal to expect when bringing a new motor to life. It has nothing to do with Overland Parts or their dealers. The timing and adjustment procedure is the same for the 1.6NA and 1.9NA as outlined in Bentley. The real issue with Overland Parts is that they sold Bryan and me the 1.9NA motor as a turbo motor. They still maintain today there is no problem with adding a turbo even though the AAZ true TD motor has stronger rods, pistons and crankshaft along with the turbo oil drain hole in the block. Since Overland has sold both 1.9NA and 1.9TD longblocks in the past I can only guess that they are either ignorant of the differences or they figure if a customer turbos a NA motor that he won't see a problem until long after the warranty expires. Besides Bryan and me, I know of one other person (a experienced VW mechanic)who was misled by Overland Parts. If there are any listees who have turboed the 1.9NA and have more than 40,000 trouble free miles on it, I would like to hear from them.
