Subject: MSDS 5-spd conversion info restriction
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Heloe all,

I had asked permission to publish instructions for the MSDS 5-spd conversion. The MSDS reply can be viewed below. I will not be publishing or providing such information as originally posted. My reply to MSDS follows at the bottom:

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<MSDS Response>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I thank the vanagon community for its interest in the upgrade products that we build here at msds inc. There is absolutely no problem with posting images of SALES items that we build / sell throughout the aftermarket.

However , I do not approve , allow ,or give any rights to anyone who copies , prints, publishes or transmits (jpegs etc.) any of our instructions, text/diagrams /photos associated with installations, normally supplied with our kits. These are copyrighted, and indicated as such on the documents.

Since we only sell complete installation kits, and not seperate components out of the kits, the instructions are not offered for sale either.

Other than that , we keep a keen eye on the internet boards for interesting things that pop up . When and if this msds customer posts these instructions to the internet, we will refer the issue to our legal dept.

Hope this explains things, Thank you <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<END of Reply>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<MY reply to Response>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> That's why I thought I'd ask. It looked like proprietary information. However, there is nothing in the 2-page sheet that I saw which indicated any copyright or trademark. The only reason I knew it was yours was the header and obvious references to an "MSDS" kit. These, by the way, appear to be a couple if not several years old. It looked very preliminary and prototypical.

At any rate. I will not post anything that I am aware is objected to by the originator of the material. That is more my personal policy more than any legal issue. Otherwise, I would have just posted it and waited for somebody to contact me to cease and desist.

I do appreciate your prompt reply to this matter. Rest assured that my involvement with this issue ends here. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Finito Angelino>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Mr. Benjamin E.S. Tan simply the BEST
