The infamous "Silver Socket" thread!  Search archives on either the
Vanagon list or the Type2 list for "Silver Socket" and you will find
hundreds of posts on the subject.  Bottom line?  Accessory outlet.
Plugs available from any BMW motorcycle dealer for something in the
neighborhood of $8 ea. or from your local John Deere tractor dealer for
somewhat less.
