Hi everyone, Thanks for all the responses about the weep hole. Turns out the water pump is leaking from one gasket on the left side as I look up at it. It did not leak on my way home from work on Wednesday, so I drove it to Kentucky anyways. It never leaked again until Sunday morning. All went well, and I made it to Louisville and back to MN again on monday morning. It was a big risk to drive that far with a now and again drip-drip, but my vanny made it and it was much more comfortable than if I would have driven the Golf with all my bikes and luggage and passengers. Kentucky was good, and it was a nice vacation. when I stopped at a hotel in Bloomington, In, I got to park next to a light colored syncro from Washington. Was it any of you? Now I will be replacing the waterpump and a few other parts this weekend, before my next roadtrip in october. Thanks again list peoples and if anyone has any suggestions of other things to replace when I get the waterpump, let me know. bye, Kim 85 GL
