One possibility is that fuel pressure may be bleeding off when the engine is shut down. Check with a fuel pressure gauge. If it does drop in a hurry, find the culprit by clamping off first the return line from the regulator, then the supply line from the pump and finally the injector lines in turn until you find which one is leaking.
