Subject: 83 Westy - Sick......Ill......or Dead?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Driving home from the weekend campout, I had problems with my 83 aircooled westy. It was a warm day and it was running fine, I went to downshift going up a hill and the bus jerked a couple times and then settled down running again. (I figured I overrevved and the rotor cut out). It happened again about a half mile down the road and again after a stop sign which killed the engine. The engine turns over like it is almost going to start but doesnt in the 5-10 seconds I alot it to start. It doesnt sound like it is firing. Late tonight or tomorrow night I'll have time to do exporatory surgery....1st compression check........2nd check ignition systems....... Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.......I'm not looking forward to the compression check as I know it will give no news or real bad news..... Thanks in advance, Mike Noble
