Mark and All,

I have always used Permatex "High Tack" on the VC gaskets, which in my opinion is nothing more than red contact cement, with excellent results.

Spray the gasket surface, spray the VC, and let the stuff set up for 5 minutes, lay the gaskets on the cover------LOOK OUT!!

They will be on there, without slipping, sliding, or leaking.

I also like the gasket sealer distributed by GM, in that it isn't silicone, and it isn't type 1 or 2 Permatex.

It seals like crazy, but yet it never sets up hard. I put a thin film of that on the engine side of the gasket for a leak proof seal.

And the VC can be removed without tearing the gasket.

Two real good products.

Later,
