My guess is that Michelin is getting a bit gun shy about selling tires for
low volume but high profile vehicles like the Vanagon here in the US.  They
may be cutting their liability by no longer offering a suitable tire for
the Vanagon.  If you buy a Rainforce instead, they will tell you that they
never approved that tire for the Vanagon....especially now that they fixed
their web page.


If in doubt follow the money (lawyers.)
