Subject: Propane Regulator Question
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi Volks,

I've got another one of those easy questions to help people feel smart and knowledgeable.

The pressure regulator on my propane tank died (specifically, the diaphragm) so I ordered a new one from Bus Depot. Problem is, I can't seem to be able to remove the darned old regulator. I am able to loosen the large nut that holds it in place but there doesn't seem to be enough room to slide the regulator out.

Can someone explain the procedure in detail for me? I'm obviously missing something that is probably fairly obvious.

Thanks in advance, Gavin

P.S. While I was down there mucking around, I noticed that there is quite a bit of rust on the tank. It appears to be just on the surface and not far advanced. I live across the street from the Pacific so everything out here gets rusty (paper clips, hard drives, etc.). Is the tank wall thick enough that I don't need to be concerned?
