Joel/John,
Thanks for your comments. The great thing about vanagon.com is that you can
ask several people before you buy! (its nearly as good as try before you
buy) So how does it 6.7 guy fit into a Vanagon? Its easy, VW must have
designed them for big German Guys. No kid, One reason I like VW's is that I
can fit into them. My first VW (72 Type 3 Fastback) had a lug you pushed
down on the seat rail that allowed the front seat to extend to the back
seat. My Passat also had a good seating position along with my T2 Bay Kombi.
So what can I say.
Thanks for your comments, Catch you again.
Chris

it won't stick into your legs unless you can get your right leg leaned
over a lot. yeah, the extension can come off. you could even shorten
it if you have a tap/die set and can match the threads (saw off a bit,
then re-thread it on that end).
how the heck does 6'7" fit into a vanagon!!!!???? did you lower the
front seats? :)

Howdy,
I installed the Gene Berg short shifter on my "87 Syncro. I don't think
either of you will have a problem with it in any way. The gear lever will be
less likely to contact your leg because it doesn't move quite as far when
you put it into gear. It's a great accessory particularly when you need a
fast downshift going uphill. Good luck!

And yes, it appears to be easily reversible.
