It's times like these that either unite or separate a group. I was seriously touched to see all the outpourings of support and condolences on the list this morning. Working for a major hotel not too far from O'Hare airport I've seen just how bad it is for those stranded away from home. As I type there is a gentleman in our lobby wearing a sign asking if anyone is driving to New Jersey. We've seen the same thing for Texas and Georgia as well over the last 24 hours. Yet when I come into my office and download the mail, here are 20 or so messages all offering help to perfect strangers. This restores my innate belief in humanity after being forced to pay an additional $0.50 per gallon of gas this morning. Chris Smith Head Slave |
