Bradley: Yes I would believe it. When I got my 83 diesel it had been leaking oil from the camshaft seal for several years. The amount of crud I removed was staggering and it took months to do it.. These people think a diesel should be dirty. They say "it's just a dirty old diesel". The reason is that they want to save money because they are misers and they have heard that diesel is economical. NO MAINTENANCE! This is the stereotypical VW diesel driver. They give diesel exhaust a bad reputation. I have no leaks and my motor does not smoke (except when it's cold). I don't have soot on my rear hatch and there is no odor of diesel fuel (AKA truckers cologne) lingering around my van. Please note, Reader, that this is possible. Entity Bradley Flubacher spoke thus: > You wouldn't believe the crud, dirt, mud and living creatures that came > off my newly acquired '82 diesel passenger van. My wife's been awefully > quiet this time around.. but There's easily $350 worth of part there, > so I think I got a good deal. |
