I dropped my propane tank yesterday to do some cleaning up and painting. I was able to remove the stamped, metal tag from the tank. It was held on by one spot weld and there was considerable rust underneath. I cleaned up the tank and rock shield with a 3M flexible disk and painted with rust-proof primer. Will finish with gloss white. Any ideas on how to re-attach the tag? Could it be perma-texed on or some other adhesive? Something that would seal it and keep the moisture from getting behind it would be nice. Maybe I should just keep the tag inside somewhere? Are any of the decals that were on the rock shield available? It would be nice to have these to put back on. Jay '85 Westy |
