Yes!!! It's all the Alaskans fault!! They closed the tap on the Alaska Pipeline so we couldn't get any. (actually that oil could not be sold to refineries in the USA - that was the agreement when the pipeline was built)

So, we need to drill in ANWR to get some oil, right?. But the real Alaskans don't want that pipeline or drilling in ANWR. There is only a drop in the bucket so to speak, when compared to our real needs. Besides that the Cook Inlet Oil Fields just out of Anchorage are nearly depleted. The Alaskans will need their oil to maintain themselves, especially since they don't import much in the way of oil products. And besides, they have a refinery on the Kenai Peninsula that supplies all their needs for cracked fuels. The oil comes from the Cook inlet oil fields, is cracked, and refined fuels are pushed through a pipe to Anchorage for consumption, storage and distribution.

Yet theirs prices took a big jump......and they get their oil at home.

Greedy , those oil companies!
