Sorry, I have to disagree with my peach tree lawyer friend. It is not better to 'pass along something'. All we learned from this is that it was a hoax.

Panics, depressions [sorry, recessions] personal slander, and really bad jokes get going this way. There are circumstances in which a false warning is better than none [look out! a grenade! qualifies] but this isn't one, and most situations aren't, IMHO.
