Subject: Accelerator cable replacement (??)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi all -

Maybe this isn't the best time to be asking a question about Vanagons, but whenever anyone has a chance:

My accel. cable snapped yesterday about 3" from the rear (near the engine bay) connection point. I ordered the replacement part from B/D for around $20. I have a Bentley's but the instructions look a little vague. Has anyone done this R/R? What is the best way to get the rear attachment piece off (looks like a little sphere with the side sliced off? I guess the rest would be pretty straight forward - feed the line through from front to back and attach. Any pointers would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Scott
