When I pulled my trans to do the pilot bearing, I used my floor jack to raise the rear of the van, then supported each side with a jackstand on the frame rails just inboard of the jack points, with a piece of 2x4 on each stand to cushion/distribute the weight on the frame. I have also done the same on the front end, but never both at once, since I only have 2 jackstands. I would not even both with ramps - I have a set and find they are a pain to use and too often slip out while trying to drive up. The only exception is if you can place ramps on very rough concrete, or gravel to avoid slippage.
