Hello all:
I have an 83.5 Vanagon that does not turn on its fan when hot.
I have checked the fan, it is OK.
Next, I tested for continuity across the pins( 3) of the temp switch on the
radiator.


When cold, there is no continuity across any pins. When hot, the right hand
pin and the middle pin show continuity.
HOWEVER, when I plug the connector in, the fan does not spin.


I can manually jump the connector on the fan side (ie bypass the temp
switch) and the fan turns on.


Question:
Is it possible to have continuity through the switch and yet not have enough
current passing capability to turn on the fan?
