Subject: Re: weddle 5 speed tranny...What you get...
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

With the Weddle gearbox you get:

-Transmission completely disassembled and gone through (trannys from SA sometimes have problems)

-2 years unlimited mileage warranty (others are 90 days to a few months)

-ability to change the gear ratios

-Years of experience in building stock and racing gearboxes (some just sell the part)

This is just to inform you of what you get along with the tranny...

Getting the .457 ring and pinion, for me, was worth the extra money. I even had a 4 spider heavy duty German diff added. The SA 5 speed tranny also includes the Heavy duty parts previously mentioned on the list (the extra oil scrapers to increase lubrication of the gears and diff and other parts listed in a post...) I was told that the SA tranny's had them included.

I originally had a German .483 gearbox rebuilt from Weddle. I added a .70 fifth gear (the .77 gears were bad and a new batch would have taken a month longer). I also added a LockRite locking diff. When the locking diff acted up, they took it back and credited me my money. I added the 4 spider diff and paid the difference. When I got it back, UPS had damaged it. I sent it back after it was over they sent me back a new SA five speed gearbox at no additional costs.

The gearing is much better than the .483 and the shift points are much better- up to 75~80 mph in fourth...then fifth...

Robert
