Hello all you vanagon nuts,
I aquired a set of 15 " rims off of 86/87 Audi turbo from local recycling yard. Need to clearance the center wholes to clear the grease caps on my 2wd westy. Has anyone done this at home? I tried last weekend with high speed grinder but seemed to take forever-with not much metal removed. Dropped them off at local machine shop.........a week later and several calls he decides they can do the work at $45 each....OUCH!
 I want to tell this guy to go POUND SAND. For this price I could purchase some high end 
tools and save some money. 
Question:What tool/tools would work in this situation short of a milling machine or a large lathe?
I have heard of a bore bar-portable at that,however(Pats Tools) says that my dimensions are in-between  the specs that these tools will operate.
