Earlier this summer I added two lights to our Westy. One was a dual 10W halogen light designed for mounting under cabinets to light counter tops. I mounted it on the underside of the shelf unit over the sink and stove. This thing is way too bright late at night! I've tried to build a pulse width modulated DC dimmer circuit but didn't have much luck. My MOSFETs kept being misfits. Anyway, I've rewired the unit so I can turn on one or both lamps depending on my need for lighting. Needless to say our dishes are always clean now! I recommend buying another Westy fixture instead of going this route.

The other light I added was a 5W halogen map light manufactured by Hella. This light is on the end of a 9" flex conduit and the fixture can rotate around so you can point the light just about anywhere. The navigator can use it at night to read maps or directions to the campground. Once at camp it can be directed so it kindo' shines into the cabinet under the sink so we can find things. Then, when we want to make the upper bunk we bend it around a bit and shine it up above. Just enough light to get the bed ready and read a book. If I can find links to a page with this fixture I'll post it.

Regards,
