I've thought about this alot, I concluded this
1) Everyone was caught by surprise
2) The hijackers where planning on suicide, I'm sure their behavior
reflected that. I believe many of the passengers witnessed stabbings etc.
It's one thing to be a hero when you think you may have a chance, but
watching a homicidal psycho with a razor in action would have to make you
think twice...Many people could gang up on them, but someone(s) one would
definaltey die trying.
3) I truley believe anyone that knew the hijackers intent would have done
whatever humanly possible to stop the plane, ie the P.A. plane crash.
Apparently these passengers had already heard of the tragic NYC crashes, and
did what they could. Who know's what could have happened if they didn't
ground the plane, hundreds or thousands more...
My .02
No one will ever know exactly what these poor people witnessed... It's
difficult to imagine that there are people twisted enough to plan this, let
alone carry it out. I'm still in disbelief, and I 've had days to think
about it.
