To bring this back to an automotive (if not outright Vanagonic) vein, it is
my (unproven) contention, supported by a quick glance at the Vegemite
website, that Vegemite is the same goo the Brits refer to as Marmite. The
colors and fonts used on the label are the same, if my memory serves, and I
would bet the manufacturer is either the same or one is a very close copy of
the other.
Why don't we contact the Marmite/Vegemite folks and request an automotive
treatment line be produced? Could be called "Carmite", and would be a nice
olfactory complement to the odor of our deep-fry-oil-powered diesel
Vanagons. In a pinch, stranded, say, miles from the nearest MacDonald's, a
person might be seen licking the seams of the beloved vehicle for
sustenance... What a commercial! Why not shoot it down under - Ayers Rock in
the background...

I think Vegemite is this very salty fermented yeast, it is very tasty spread
on bread and as a general condiment. Kids love it. It is more like the
'Stryin version of peanut butter.
