Mark..The trick I use is to put it into the gear your having trouble with (say 1st) and loosen the 2 bolts below the shifter a bit..not really loose, but just barely....gently smack the shifter towards the steering wheel ( for a 1st or 2nd problem)and that should move the plates below the shifter a tiny bit. Tighten the bolts and try to see if it helped...Remember to have it IN the troublesome gear before loosening the bolts. May take a try or 2 but it seems to be the best way...
