Subject: New User: '84 Westy Brake Adjuster Problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Howdy list members...my name is Mike and I just joined the vanagon list (lucky you). I live in Mesa, AZ...and I just bought an 84 Vanagon Westfalia 1.9L (nicknamed "Bad Larry"...so you guys and gals are going to be getting a lot of questions from me...I hope your ready :o) i also live in my van if that interests anyone...it's very difficult right now due to the summer temperatures surpassing the 110 degree mark...but it should be a lot easier in a few weeks. I might also need some help boosting my refridgerator at some point also...but anyways...so yeah...nice to meet you all...hope to talk soon...

so...back to the point...first in line...brakes. my brake adjuster came loose last week and when i pulled my drum, the two pieces of the adjuster were lying on the bottom of it...all ground up of course. So i pulled another brake adjuster from some other vanagon...and now i can't figure out how it goes in there. i would check the other brake...but i can't get the lug nuts off...and i don't know if that would be completely accurate anyway. so...if someone could just let me know what side of the brake adjuster goes where and also the spring i believe connects to it. thanks a million.

Peace, Bad Larry
