Honestly, Horace, I don't either but at 25 cents a pop for a new washer I
don't intend to test it either.  I've got a pile of new washers and use a
fresh one every time.

Okay.  I don't understand.  How can a soft CU washer make a large diameter
drain plug stuck?
I don't see the physics or the mechanics of the scenario.
