I need some tips on this too as I need to take my sliding window out on the sink side to stop it from leaking down the inside of the panel and making the rust worse then it is now.

  HELP!!!   I need to know how to install a sliding side window and the big hatch window.  I have new glass, the old ones are out, the rubber is pristine and now ready to put them back in.  Do I need two people and use that old string-in-the-groove trick?  Need to lubicate anything?  The vanagon doesn't run so I can't take it to the glass shop and they want $100 to make house calls.  I know many of you have done this before and I've done it on many a beetle but these windows are BIG!!
