Rachel, I have to disagree. I think the blanket IS a source of heat. If you want to conserve the heat you generate, get a nice down comforter or some other insulation.

I bet it's small for 2 reasons. 1) is that generating heat from electricity takes a lot of energy. You'll be putting a big load on your battery with this thing. 2) All you really need to heat is your body core. Any heat that isn't directly next to your torso you could probably do without.
