Matt,

Did you call VW with your VIN first? Vw had a recall of the heater cores on Corrados and Passats. Don't quote me on the year, but there is a recall that is definitely worth the phone call. We do them about once a month and the mechanics love them.

I've got the entire dash out, but I can't figure out what holds the heater to the firewall???? I thought I'd ask before I start ripping out all of the insulation. > > PS If anyone thinks changing a vanagon heater is tough, take a look at thing! > > Thanks in advance. > > Matt
